Vein Care, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, was founded
by Steven L. Kaufman, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.S., a board-certified general
surgeon who has served the Front Range for more than 20 years.
Dr.
Kaufman specializes in state-of-the-art treatments for venous reflux
disease, including varicose and spider veins, and offers the most comprehensive,
and established program in Northern Colorado.
At Total Vein Care, our goal is to help you look and feel your best! We offer effective, state-of-the-art procedures in a highly personalized environment of comfort and safety. Using the latest generation ultrasound technology to assist us in diagnosis, we perform most procedures right in our office, without the need for general anesthesia or hospitalization.
From the VNUS Closure®, laser, ambulatory phlebectomy, and sclerotherapy procedures, to more traditional procedures like inversion vein stripping, Dr. Kaufman takes the time to get to know you and your specific needs, and makes the most appropriate recommendations based on a complete diagnostic workup.
About Dr. Steven l. Kaufman
Dr. Kaufman is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in phlebology – the diagnosis and treatment of vein disorders. He is Northern Colorado’s leading vein care specialist, with the education, experience, advanced training, and positive patient outcomes to make him the preferred choice for the care of your vein problem.
Dr. Kaufman received his B.A. degree in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, with distinction, from the University of Colorado. He then earned a Ph.D. in Genetics from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Kaufman completed his surgery residency at New York University/Bellevue Medical Center in New York City, and at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
For nearly 20 years, Dr. Kaufman practiced General, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was also an Attending Surgeon at the Cheyenne Veterans Administration Medical Center.
In 2001, Dr. Kaufman relocated his practice to Northern Colorado. He is an active staff member of the Department of Surgery at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Dr. Kaufman is licensed in Colorado, Wyoming, and North Carolina. He
is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of several
professional societies, including the American Venous Forum, the American
College of Phlebology, the American Medical Association, the Colorado
Medical Society, and the Denver Academy of Surgery.
