About Dr. Steven l. Kaufman
Dr. Kaufman received his B.A. degree in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology, with distinction, from the University of Colorado. He then earned a Ph.D. in Genetics from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Kaufman completed his surgery residency at New York University/Bellevue Medical Center in New York City, and at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. For nearly 20 years, Dr. Kaufman practiced General, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was also an Attending Surgeon at the Cheyenne Veterans Administration Medical Center. In 2001, Dr. Kaufman relocated his practice to Northern Colorado. He is an active staff member of the Department of Surgery at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. Dr. Kaufman is licensed in Colorado, Wyoming, and North Carolina. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of several professional societies, including the American Venous Forum, the American College of Phlebology, the American Medical Association, the Colorado Medical Society, and the Denver Academy of Surgery.
